Here are some Christian journal prompts for March! I usually journal in the morning after reading my Bible, but please don’t treat this as a task or assignment. It’s meant to get you to spend some more time thinking about Jesus. You can skip days or skip around; there are no rules.

  1. What’s something you learned last month with Jesus (personal convictions, about his character, etc)

  2. What are some spiritual goals you have for this month? (Read your bible, pray more, have devotional time, less screen time)

  3. Where does your heart/mind wander off to? If it’s not Jesus, ask him to shape your heart/ mind.

    • Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

  4. Spend some time thinking of those around you. Pray for them

  5. Write down your current prayer requests

  6. Content audit: is the content you consume feeding your flesh or distracting you?

    • Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

  7. Write a gratitude prayer

  8. Do a deep dive into a character in the bible. Note how God has worked in their lives. The same God then is the same God now. He can move your mountains, too.

    • Joseph, Moses, Ruth, Esther, Peter, Daniel…

  9. What are some areas you can grow in? (bible reading, prayer, serving, loving)

  10. If you were to introduce Jesus to someone, what would you say?

  11. What would you say/ do if Jesus were right in front of you?

  12. Bible study time! (Read Luke 10:38-42) What are some things that keep you from sitting at Jesus’ feet?

  13. How would you describe your relationship with Jesus?

  14. Are you being a good representative of God’s people

  15. How can you practically include Jesus more in your day?

  16. Do the people around you sharpen and lead you to Jesus or draw you away?

  17. How can you love others more today?

  18. Take the time to ask someone how you can pray for them. Write it down and ACTUALLY PRAY FOR THEM!

  19. List moments of joy from the past few days

  20. Write out John 3:16. Really spend time and meditate on it. (I recommend reading verses 16-21)

  21. Life audit! Have you followed through on the goals from the 3/2 and 3/9?

  22. Write a letter back to Paul updating him about the church today :/

  23. Mental check: anything you’re worried and stressed about?

    • Philippians 4:6–7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  24. If you could have a conversation with anyone in the bible (not Jesus), who would it be and what would you talk about?

  25. How can you glorify God in your everyday, ordinary life?

    • 1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

  26. What does it look like to be a woman/man of God

    • Proverbs 31:10–31, 1 Timothy 6:11–12, Galatians 5:22–23

  27. Are you a woman/man of God?

  28. When do you feel most distant from God?

    • James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

  29. What kind of person is God leading me to be, and how can I become that person?

  30. How has God shown his love to you recently?

  31. Thankful for list (in detail)
