Sarah Elizabeth is a writer and singer based in Kansas City. Through poetry, music, and essays, she writes for those who want to move beyond familiarity and wake up to both

For this month's issue of The Fold, Sarah generously shared both her poem "A Home" and a playlist created to accompany it. Together, they became a quiet invitation into this month's theme, reminding us that our deepest longing for home ultimately finds its answer in Christ.
A Note from Sarah
I'm someone who doesn't like change.
I've also experienced sudden, heartbreaking changes that I never could have imagined as a kid. So much of life is learning to lean on Jesus in the middle of twists and turns.
If that leaves you feeling a little unsettled, you're not alone. It helps me to remember that not only does God never change, but He is preparing an eternal home for us.
Maybe it's fitting that we crave something unending. We were created for more than what's in front of us right now.
A real day is coming when the ache you feel inside will finally find its home.
Just a little while longer now.

One of the first things that stood out to me about Sarah's writing is how quietly hopeful it is.
Her poem doesn't try to rush past longing or offer easy answers. Instead, it gently reminds us that the homes we build here are only echoes of the one we're ultimately waiting for.
As I was putting together this issue, her words felt like they belonged here. They hold the same tension that John 14 does where Jesus acknowledges that we are not home yet, while promising that He is preparing one for us. I hope you'll spend some time with both the poem and the playlist. Read slowly. Listen all the way through. Let them accompany you on a walk, or during your morning coffee.
